Tavoris Gulley of Nevada pumped in 8 two-pointers, two three-pointers and he made 6 out of 7 free shots for 28 points. He was the game's leading scorer.

Reginald Reed scored 15 points for the Blue Jays, hitting 5 two-pointers, 1 three-pointer and 2 of 4 foul shots.

Joseph Young and Jermain Perkins scored 10 points apiece, Young made 3 two-pointers, 1 trey and 1 of 1 free throws, and Perkins connected with 3 two's and he was 4 for 4 from the line.

In the first quarter the Blue Jays led 22-2 and 24-4 before finishing the period atg 32-6. The Jays were strong and too fast for the Tigers, as the ball was taken away from Taylor several times.

At this point coach Glyndon Franklin put in a second group of 5 players, who held their own against the Tigers. He then put in another set of five, but had to put the original five back in before the half as the Taylor senior boys began to close the gap. Nevada led 49-33 at halftime

In the second half the Blue Jays came out sluggish, completely different from the beginning of the game. Taylor was playing harder and hitting three- pointers and began to close the difference. The Tigers came to within 8 points for the Jays, but Nevada led 61-48 at the end of the third period.

In the final period Shane Woolf, Shannon Minniefield and the other Tigers really put the pressure on Nevada, defensively. Thanks to Woolf and Minniefield the Tigers got as close as 7 points before the Jays finally took control of the game.

Woolf scored 21 points for the Tigers, hitting 5 three-pointers and 3 two's. Minniefield hit 4 three's, 2 two-pointers and he made 3 of 4 free shots for 19 points.

Others scoring for Nevada were Ricardo Young with 8 points, LaMarcus Page and Eric Murphy with 6 each, Mike Lowe and Courtney Mixon had 2 apiece and Casey Curtis finished with 1 point.

The Blue Jays hit 75 percent of their free throws, 15 of 20. Taylor made 13 of 28.
