Nevada Gifted Committee MeetsPublished Wednesday, November 1, 1995 in the Nevada County PicayuneThe Gifted and Talented Committe of Nevada School met in September to review information for new referrals. Brian Maroon, Alex Salb, Channing Watts, David Williams, Jenifer Harding, LaRuth Moss, Mendi McKamie, and Mark Wright were approved for the elementary program. Lasheka Gulley and Shaun McKamie were approved for the high school program. Parents of the Gifted and Talented students met at Nevada School on October 3 to discuss the program. Anyone interested in looking at information about program options can stop by the lab. The advisory committee met in September. Nell Rocket, the Southwest Arkansas Educational Co-op superivsor met with the committee and shared information. Congratulations to Stacy Bingham, Brittany Bailey, Lasheka Gulley and Daniel Marlar for being invited to participate in Duke University Talent Identification Program. Students must have high scores on the SAT to be eligible for this honor. Students who participate will be given opportunity to take the ACT. This is a wonderful opportunity for these seventh graders.
