Prescott Man Critical After Sat. AccidentPublished Wednesday, November 1, 1995 in the Nevada County PicayuneA one vehicle accident has left a Prescott man in critical condition in a Texarkana hospital. According to reports from the Hope Police Department, Daniel L. Ridling, 20, of Prescott, was last seen shortly after midnight Saturday morning. His 1987 Chevrolet pickup was found in Pate Creek off Highway 67 by joggers about 7:50 a.m. Saturday. Police reports state the accident occurred between 12:30 and 7:50 a.m. The truck was traveling west on Highway 67 when it failed to negotiate a curve at the foot of the hill near Myer's Bakery. The vehicle left the road, went in a ditch, where it traveled about 238 feet before stopping on the west bank of the creek. Ridling was found seated in the truck, unconscious. He was transported to Medical Park Hospital in Hope by the Hempstead County Ambulance Service and later air lifted to Wadley Regional Medical Center in Texarkana, where he is still listed in critical condition. Capt. James Singleton, with the HPD, said the department will be at a loss as to the cause of the accident until Ridling regains consciousness and can tell them what happened.
