Yellville Falls To Prescott, 48-6 (cont)Published Wednesday, November 15, 1995 in the Nevada County PicayuneSnyder had slipped through and couldn't be caught as he scored the only TD for Yellville. A two-point conversion pass was incomplete, leaving the score at 41-6 with 10:31 left in the final period. Both teams kept playing on fourth down as if they could make it. They each had two turnovers on downs the next few minutes. Finally, the Curley Wolves took over on the Yellville 20. A delay penalty moved the ball to the 25, making it first and 15. Montgomery picked up 9 yards to the Yellville 14. Then VanHook ran off right tackle for the TD. The PAT by Fountain was good with only a few seconds left in the game. Prescott had won its first playoff game of 1995, 48-6. This week the Wolves are preparing for the Hamburg purple and white Lions. This team may not remember, but several years ago in the playoffs Hamburg was favored. Prescott went to Hamburg in 1983 and came away with a 19-7 win. So, proper preparation must be done. Above all the Wolves don't need to get overconfident after such a large victory over a fourth place team. Hamburg came in second in District 8AA, just behind Dollarway. The Wolves don't need to be looking down the road, but wholly concentrate on the Lions. Get them out of the way next. Prescott finished with 17 first downs Friday. They were penalized five times for 40 yards. Yellville was penalized 3 times for 25 yards. Not many mistakes were made by the Wolves, and that's what it takes to be a championship team.
