Meeting Has Mayor Begging For Help (cont)Published Wednesday, November 15, 1995 in the Nevada County Picayunens. However, he said anyone wanting to hook onto the system can come to City Hall and pay $20 down and $20 per month until the $180 is paid out. "This," he said, "will help us get started. This is a service that's needed. We've been assured of financing. This is the proper time to grab the opportunity." So far, only 75 of the 650 eligible for the system have signed up. "We need to get customers," Taylor said. "We have to get out and beat the bushes and knock on doors. We need volunteers." Taylor has set a deadline of Dec. 1 for people to sign up for the system.
