CCIC Sees New Tool

Published Wednesday, November 22, 1995 in the Gurdon Times

High tech recruiting was demonstrated at the Clark County Industrial Council meeting, Thursday, Nov. 16.

Dan Borengasser, with Ozark Film and Video Productions, Inc. of Springdale, demonstrated a 3.5 inch interactive computer disk, set up for Windows, to the CCIC general membership.

Borengasser said the disk will help a community's promotional material stand out from its competitors by incorporating graphics and photos, along with text in an interactive format.

This way, prospects will have a distinctive method of learning about a community.

According to information about the program, it is user friendly and easily installed in a personal computer system. Once installed, a mouse can be used to "point and click" to access specific information about a community.

In addition, this cutting-edge technology can be updated and changed as quickly as necessary. It also cuts down on expenses as less printing is needed for brochures and mailouts.

Site photos and specific information about a community can be downloaded on the program.

Borengasser told the CCIC the program can easily be used as an economic development or tourism tool.

He said the program can include such information as education, the work force in the area, available sites and other such data a prospective business or industry may need.

In other business, CCIC president Percy Malone is working on the paperwork for Polycarbon.

The California-based company has set a deadline of six months to be up and operational in Clark County's Industrial Park, after agreeing on a lease plan for the CCIC's spec building in October.
