Christmas Promotion Is Set; Santa Is Coming

A Christmas in Gurdon Promotion and Parade has been planned for downtown Gurdon on Tuesday, December 5th, from 9:00 to 5:00 p.m. The Chamber of Commerce has sponsored this annual event since 1988 to encourage local citizens to do their holiday shopping in their hometown. The Christmas Parade will start at 4:00 p.m. and will include an appearance by Santa Claus. First and second prizes will be awarded to the best floats.

In addition to the parade there will be a drawing for a $100.00, $50.00 and two $25.00 gift certificates. Entry boxes for the gift certificates will be placed in the downtown stores and local merchants are encouraged to have special sales and promotions. Prizes will also be awarded to the downtown merchants for the best decorated store windows.

All local churches, businesses, organizations and schools are ureged to participate in the parade.
