second half. However, Yates was intercepted by Matthew Caldwell to stop the drive at the Clarksville 40.

Then Clarksville had to punt and once more Yates was intercepted. This time the Panthers would get a TD out of the turnover.

It took the Panthers 8 plays to move the ball from their 44 to their 6, thanks in part to a face mask penalty against the Wolves. Shawn Holt took the ball over from the 3-yard line. The PAT was good, but Prescott led 32-14.

The last quarter began after Yates had kicked a good punt. The kick was killed by Prescott at the Clarksville 8-yard line. The Panthers would take nearly 5 minutes to move the football across for the score.

The drive was a good one for the Panthers with Buckner mixing up the plays very effectively. Buckner took it in from the one, but a 2-point try failed when Channing Butler defected a pass meant for Nick Kern.

The score was 32-20 with 7:13 left in the game.

Once more Yates was intercepted. The Panthers took over at their 36.

C.D. Flemons managed to get his hand on the ball with a big jump; his slap sent the ball to the ground. The deflection could have saved a big gainer. But on the next play Buckner shoved the ball over the defensive line to Holt. Holt went the 64 yards for the TD. The PAT was missed to leave the score at 32-26 with 4:56 left in the game.

And again the defense did their part. The secondary broke up important pass plays. Flemons again slapped a pass down. (How many times has he gotten through to the quarterback this year?) On the last play of the night Buckner was sacked to end any chances of scoring again.

Prescott was penalized a total of 13 times during the game for 110 yards. Clarksville was penalized once for 10 yards.

The Wolves only had 14 first downs while Clarksville had 23 the entire game.

Each team had three turnovers: Clarksville's were in the first half, Prescott's were in the last. Each team, being strong contenders for the championship title, were effective in capitalizing on the mistakes.

This Saturday's championship game proves what coach Eddie Jackson has said for several years: the 7AA Conference has some of the best football teams in the state.

Prescott and Nashville have proved it. Both have gone further than was expected in the playoffs. Saturday's game should be one of the best in War Memorial Stadium this season.

Prescott fans should be prepared to leave early with the caravan. (See separate article.) A tailgate party and pep rally will be held on the War Memorial Stadium parking lot at 11:00 a.m. Saturday.

Be there to show your support for the Curley Wolves.

While Bryant will be missed greatly, the Wolves have shown they can perform as a complete unit. The team needs to remember this.
