Lions Auction Raises $9,100Published Wednesday, December 13, 1995 in the Nevada County PicayuneThe 1995 Prescott Lion's Club Auction was a rousing success because of the involvement of the merchants and people who donated their time and items for sale from the Prescott and surrounding areas. The club's goal for the auction was $9,000 this year. It was exceeded by $100, as 9,100 was raised. A basketball autographed by the Arkansas Razorbacks fetched $175, while a Curley Wolf football brought in another $100. Ownership of all Nevada County Picayune content from the beginning of the newspaper, including predecessors, until May 2001 was contributed by the John and Betty Ragsdale family to the Prescott Community Freenet Association.
