Salb Earns MVP Honors

Published Wednesday, December 20, 1995 in the Nevada County Picayune

Amanda Salb, a 1995 graduate of Nevada High School, has been named Most Valuable Player at Mount Holyoke College in South Hadley, Mass. She is one of the first freshmen to be MVP at Mount Holyoke, a news release stated.

Salb, a forward, is a starter for Lyon's hoops. At the Regis Tournament she scored in double figures for 12.5 points per game average. Salb also exhibited impressive rebounding skills, averaging 10 per game.

Her dynamic presence on the court resulted in All-Tournament Team honors, according to Ted Eskildsen, head coach of the team.

According to Eskildsen, Salb, or `Little Rock' as she is known, is "an outstanding competitor. She comes ready to play everytime she steps on the floor."
