Sherry Elizabeth Anderson Cobb, 48, of Cosby, Tenn., died Sunday, June 20, 1999, at Baptist Hospital of Cocke County after a long battle with cancer.

Mrs. Cobb was director of the Newport Animal Shelter and an Animal Control officer for the city of Newport, Tenn.; a member of Friends of the Shelter; secretary of Sevier County, Tenn., Riding Club; a member of Animal Control Association of Tennessee, the National Animal Control Association, and a member of St. Mark United Methodist Church in Camden.

Survivors include her husband, William J. Cobb Jr.; her stepson, William J. Cobb III; her parents, Wanda and Edgar Anderson; a sister, Sylvia Anderson Wray; a nephew, Nathaniel Anderson Wray all of Camden; four aunts, Ida Anderson and Helen Anderson of Wilmar, Hazel Bryson of Fort Smith and Marie Eley of Prescott; and many other relatives and friends.

The funeral was held at 8 p.m. this past Wednesday at the First United Methodist Church in Newport, Tenn., with Rev. Riley Huffoteller officiating. Burial was in the DeAnn Cemetery in Prescott last Sunday at 3 p.m. with Rev. Jim Lenderman officiating.
