On December 15, the fifth and sixth grade music class and the eighth grade advanced English class put on Christmas plays for Prescott Middle School students in the cafetorium.

The fifth and sixth grade play was called "What In The World is Christmas."

Since the seventh and eighth grade students did not get to see it, we interviewed Mrs. Thomas to gather more information on the play. Here are some questions we asked:

Q: What did you look at in each cast member to judge who would play each part?

A. Ability and personality in the kids.

Q: How much effort or practice time was devoted to this play?

A: The students gave up a tremendous amount of their time for play practice.

Q: Was it hard to decide which person should get a certain part?

A: Some parts were harder than others.

Q: Were there difficult or frustrating times, or did the children participate well?

A: The students were very excited about participating, and there were very few problems.

Q: Do you think the play was a reward for the children?

A: Yes, the students were very eager to express themselves in a positive manner.

Q: Was the play fun or fascinating to you when you were working with the children?

A: Yes, I enjoyed the play. The students made it fun to do.

Q: Were there any remarks from the audience? Good or bad?

A: Good. The audience seemed to have enjoyed the music and the message.

Q: What was the meaning of the play?

A: To make us more aware of the true meaning of Christmas.

Q: What were a few songs in the play?

A: "Celebrate," "The First to See the Star," "Inga's Lullaby," and "At Christmas."

Q: Do you think the play was a success?

A: Yes, because I think the true meaning of Christmas was felt throughout the performance.

Q: Will you be doing another play anytime soon?

A: Yes, in the spring.

The eighth grade advanced English class will put on a play called "The Christmas Cowboy." It is about a little boy named Tony who is in the hospital and thinks he discovers that there is no Santa, but as the story progresses, volunteers in the Helping Hand Program convince him and the other young patients that Santa can come in any form and to any place.

The students only had one week to put it together and then they performed for the other seventh and eighth grade students. Considering the amount of practice time, we think they did a great job! We want to say a special thank you to all who helped get the plays together.
