G-Town plays the blues will be the theme for this year's Gurdon Go-Devil Marching Band.

Deaths
John C. Montgomery
John C. Montgomery was born August 1, 1906, in Gurdon and after being ill for a time, he went to meet the Lord on June 10, 1998, in Eureka, Calif., with a very large and loving family at his bedside.
Smith Family Gathers
The annual Smith reunion was held at the Gurdon Senior Citizens Center Sunday, June 14, with over 55 family and friends registered. Several came from Texas to visit and to attend the reunion.
Reunion Held
Warrie Levi and Martha Glidewell Taylor family reunion was held May 25.
Golden Oldies
Bingo was played at the Gurdon Senior Adult Center Monday, July 5. Tuesday, July 6, Donna Smith and Cindy Rhodes entertained us with beautiful songs.

Henderson Is Awarded Grant
Henderson State University is the recipient of an Arkansas Better Chance (ABC) grant for $100,000 from the Division of Child Care and Early Childhood Education.
GPS Registration Set
Students who will enter grades kindergarten through the fourth at Gurdon Primary School for the first time need to come by the primary school office on Thursday, July 23, to register between 8:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m.
